Behavioral Sleep Medicine

Do you have trouble falling asleep at night?  One in four people experience occasional insomnia and one in ten have chronic insomnia that may last months or years. Chronic insomnia won’t go away on its own. If left untreated, it can negatively affect your quality of life, relationships and work.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is the most effective treatment for chronic insomnia. CBT-I is recommended by the American College of Physicians as the first and best treatment option. Studies have shown CBT-I to be as effective as medication in the short term, and more effective in the long term. Unlike medication, CBT-I produces long-lasting results and no risk of dependency.

I have advanced training in CBT-I from the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program at the University of Pennsylvania. CBT-I is highly effective, and usually just 6 – 8 sessions can bring you huge relief and improve your sleep.  It can be life changing. Working collaboratively, I can help you learn how to sleep soundly.

If you are ready to find relief, healing and growth, or if you have questions about my therapy practice or approach, I invite you to contact me here or call me at (650) 421-3788 to schedule a phone consultation.
